SKIN HANGOVER
How to Rescue Your Skin After Those Extra Cocktails
There are those mornings where you wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and there are mornings where you wake up… not so much. Got a lunch date or a meeting? Not to worry: With a little help, you can say goodbye to those puffy eyes and parched skin in no time.
I’m hoping you at least took off your makeup last night. If not, start by double cleansing the skin to get deep into those pores. Next, apply a brightening serum. Whether you choose to opt for vitamin C, or fake-it-till-you-make-it with a glowy or shimmery serum, this will help bring some life back into your skin. Follow with a hydrating moisturizer to lock in all of the goodness.
Chances are, you’re looking a little puffy. This tends to happen because our bodies try to hold onto as much water as possible after being dehydrated from drinking. While it takes 24-48 hours for the puffiness to go away, you can help speed up the process by using a gua sha or face roller to get things moving. Bonus points if they’re icy cold from being stored in your freezer!
After these steps and a little makeup, you should be de-zombified enough to go about your day. Keep the repair going when you return home at night with some more skincare. Remove your makeup, apply your mask of choice, and apply your go-to rescue products. Oh, and next time, drink your water!!
