SUNSCREEN MAKEUP
We all want to be both snatched and protected this summer, which is where sunscreen makeup comes majorly into play. Here is how to incorporate SPF into your makeup and still achieve the ideal look, whether it be glowy, matte or focused on a specific part of your face.
Glowy Look
If you like the minimal look with lots of glow, the perfect way to achieve this safely in the summer is by using a glowy sunscreen as your new base coat. Many brands have released glowy face sunscreens that will give your skin a stunning shine without the need for any new makeup products. For a bit more coverage halfway between glowy and matte, a tinted moisturizer with SPF will still provide some glow from within.
Matte Look
For anyone who prefers a matte finish to their makeup: you do not have to say goodbye to this preference for the summer!
Matte finish sunscreen is all over the market and can provide a low-coverage look that is shine-free and, of course, protects you from the sun. For those that like a bit of coverage but still prefer a matte makeup look, applying sunscreen before makeup and layering translucent power over the finished product works perfectly. You can also use SPF foundation in a matte formula with powder on top.
Lips
Keep your lips safe from the sun with a layer of SPF lip balm under any of your favorite products. If you don’t like the feel of a sunscreen lip balm, blot a little bit of regular sunscreen over your lips with a Q-Tip or explore one of the many SPF lipsticks and glosses on the market. These products are available in sheer, full-coverage, shiny and matte options.
Lips can stay safe and juicy this summer!
Face and Eyes
Want to look sun kissed without a burn? SPF blush is perfect for any coverage level, but liquid blushes also work well around the eyes, can function as an eyeshadow and bring extra color into the upper half of the face.
If you have the perfect shade of liquid blush already, you can mix it with sunscreen to create the perfect SPF blush. You might even try the same method with a little bit of crushed powder blush for the perfect DIY sun safe liquid blush.
