IN A RENAISSANCE PAINTING
Traveling from Venice, I arrived in Florence during a pink and golden sunset. The mountains that surrounded the city of Florence seemed as if they were extracted from a classical Renaissance painting. My heart pulsed for the beauty of the Tuscan city while the sun reflected on the stretching Arno river, where the ancient bridges hovered over. That night, the moon illuminated the sky, lighting up the narrow streets, and energizing my soul for the day of art that followed.
Florence is known as the birthplace of Renaissance art. I knew I must spend a day exploring the museums. I started with the Gucci Garden–high-end fashion standing out in rooms of pink peonies with a mix of 80s pop music. I was reminded of my rosy pink MAC Satin Pink eyeshadow; a pretty pink with a pop of glamor. Then, I made my way to the Uffizi Gallery, a prominent art museum, to immerse myself in the art of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Fascinated by the classics, I continued my day of art in the Accademia Gallery of Florence where visitors stand in awe at the statue of David. Leaving all of the museums with a feeling of serenity, I treated myself to gelato and allowed my skin to soak in the sun, seeing my Laura Mercier rose gold face highlighter illuminating in the sunlight while sitting on the side of the Arno River. Florence is truly a city of art.
