PARTY MODE: ON

I sit down at my vanity with my drink of choice for the night. It’s the calm before the storm: I enjoy the last bit of quiet I have before my friends join me at my apartment.

Leisurely going through my makeup routine, I think about the night ahead: the people I will meet, the memories I will create, and the stories I am bound to share. Getting ready for the night is secretly my favorite part; I love any excuse to dress up and use my sparkly eyeshadow and other products that are usually tucked away, only to be brought out on special occasions. There is a knock at my door, and I sweep my lipgloss across my lips before click-clacking my way to the door to greet them.

Music, laughter, and the clinking of glasses fill my ears. We take pictures and compliment each other on our sparkly outfits and makeup to match. We take the last sips of our drinks and do our final touch-ups in the mirror, and depart for the night, ready for what it will bring our way. Before I close the door, I do a quick spritz of my signature perfume to leave my mark behind me on our adventure.
