PACKING GUIDE
If you’re an avid overpacker, you can still do it with these packing tips that I’ve found useful when you feel like you haven’t packed enough.
Ziplock Your Clothes
If you’re constantly digging through your luggage when you get to your destination, then ziplocking your clothes for the travel might help you. You can organize it by ziplocking shirts separate from pants and so on. You can even go so far as labeling them, such as if you have outfits for dinners picked out you can put them together. This method allows you to pack as much as you want while staying compact.
Bring a Bag for Dirty Clothes
Once you get home, you don’t want to guess which clothing items are dirty. The easiest solution to that is making sure you bring some sort of bag for your dirty laundry so that you can easily just pop them into the washer when you get home and it’ll lighten your load of laundry if there are items that you haven’t worn.
Do Not Travel with Open Containers
Any products you plan on bringing should not be in the containers you bought them in. This is simply because this often leads to spillage within your luggage, and no one wants to open their bag to see everything inside ruined or damp. I would suggest buying travel containers to put your liquid products into. Even with those anti-spillage is not guaranteed, but at least it’s not spilling a whole container of product. You can also buy travel size products to make this effort to stop spillage much easier, just don’t open the products until you need them at your destination. To further stop spillage I suggest that putting your travel size bottles into a ziplock, extra bag, or in a separate compartment to ensure your other items do not get damaged.
Roll Your Clothes
A method I’ve been seeing within a few TikToks is that rolling your clothes can ensure that they do not become wrinkled and offers you more space within your luggage. Going further into this idea, you can roll your outfits together so that (again) you are not rummaging through your luggage and making a mess.
Cover Your Shoes
If you’re packing your shoes in the same luggage as your clothes, make sure to cover them! This ensures that no dirt falls from your shoes and onto your clean clothes because chances are you’re probably going somewhere where you can’t freely do your laundry, or you could find a laundromat, but why do all that when you can avoid it? You can easily grab an extra shopping bag and wrap them up within your luggage and take them out when you’re ready to use them with dirt only within the bag you wrapped them in.
Create a Packing List
Creating a packing list can ensure that you pack everything you need first and then if you can fit more you can add all the things you would want to bring, but don’t need. I find this extremely helpful when not knowing where to start with packing. This can help you decide what’s worth bringing and what’s not. This packing list can also help you when you want to make sure you have all your items before heading home.
Of course, you can still pack using your own methods, but these tips might make it much easier and much less messy for your next upcoming travel.
