HAIR AND INDIVIDUALITY: A JOURNEY OF SELF DISCOVERY
Hair may just be a bunch of strands to some people. But for others, it’s their crown. It’s what they define themselves with and can express their personality through. Different hair types are unique and powerful in their own ways. Every one’s hair not only has a specific texture, but it has a story behind it. Learning about your hair and starting your journey of self confidence is a crucial part of your life. Hair can express one’s individuality in many different ways from their history of background to their hair texture.
Ethnicity
You may stumble upon your need to learn more about your background and ethnicity. Learning more about who you are can further help you celebrate your ethnicity and culture. And hair can have a bliss in being part of one’s ethnicity. There are different main hair types with ethnicity.
Afro-textured hair originated and is prevalent in many regions with a warmer climate, which includes the continent of Africa. Afro-textured hair is characterized by tight curls and kinks. This hair type grows almost parallel to the scalp. Due to it’s spiral structure that causes it to curl. It has the slowest growth rate of 0.9 centimeters per month.
Caucasian hair types can be straight, wavy or curly, and have a variety of colors. This hair type grows in a more diagonal direction to the scalp (1.2 centimeters a month). It is also the densest hair type out of the three profiles and has a more oval-shaped strand.
A hair type that is mostly straight and black/dark brown mostly confines with individuals from the continent of Asia. Or in other words, individuals who have more Asian descent. This hair type grows perpendicular to the scalp and grows the fastest (1.4 centimeters per month). However, it is the least dense from the three ethnic profiles.
Every hair type is stunning in its own way. With the brilliance of learning more about your ethnicity, hair can take you a step further. Researching your hair type can not only guide you to your defined texture, but it can help you with learning the history. Ethnicity can further define yourself and to uplift your confidence in embracing your background.
Creativity and Expression
Many individuals confine themselves to creativity and expression when it comes to their hair. One might express themselves with a tinted red hair dye and mix it with a bright purple. And the same person may have the personality of learning two different things at once. Another might dye their hair in all forms of colors. And they might be the person that is more adventurous and wants to explore hints of places.
However, it is important to take in that hair doesn't have to define who you are beyond, A person may have a natural, one-colored hair and still wanna try different adventures too. But one’s hair can further help another individual see who their personality is. Of course, that person may have to connect with them further to get more insight. But hair can boost an individual’s personality at times.
Personalized Hair Routine
Everyone’s hair is different but extraordinary in every way. There is an importance of not comparing yourself to others when it comes to hair/hair routines. An example would be if there were two of you and you were explaining each other’s hair types. Both of you may use the same treatment of Detox Shampoo, which deep cleans your scalp of any product left over.
But the two of you may also have two completely different hair types. You might have more of a wavy fine type and the other might have a more curly thick hair type. The two hair types are very similar but are very different too.
You may use a more light conditioner like a Coconut Repairing Conditioner. In addition, you also may use a light regular shampoo of Green Apple Protein Shampoo. Additional light products may include a Wave Spray or a Light Curl Cream since your hair type may be more a light wave texture.
The other individual may use a more heavy, more defining curl conditioner such as Divine Curls Conditioner with the addition of a Curl Defining Shampoo. Additional curl-defined products may include a sulfate-free, heavy product of Defining Curl Cream (because of the thick curly/coily hair).
It is important that your hair will not thrive if you are thriving on the inside. Embracing your natural hair type and texture can help with boosting confidence. Boosting your confidence comes from within and not comparing yourself to others. The only person that knows your hair is yourself. You know your own hair type and you may have to try many different products. But once you find the right ones that you think will benefit you will help define your routine. Another person may say that those products do not work for their hair, but it doesn't mean it may not work for you. Try out different products and do not compare yourself to others. Finding your true products will help boost your hair.
Glorious hair starts from within and shines through your confidence with the products that you define for your hair.
