I wake to the familiar noise of cars passing by, combined with distant chatter and the beam of spring sunshine peeking through my blinds. Once my rested eyes open fully, I look down at the city. My city. A city full of endless dreams, rich culture, and my favorite—the impressive fashion scene.

I fell in love with New York fashion long before my morning rituals spent people watching from my bedroom window, getting a first-hand look at the emerging street fashion trends. Was it during my first glimpse of the editorial while viewing The Devil Wears Prada? Or seeing Naomi Campbell grace the Metropolitan steps in Versace at a past Met Gala? It’s hard to tell. All I knew was that the world of NYC fashion was more than purely just clothes, but brought contagious energy I had to be a part of.
Now, the city is more than my personal fashion capital, it’s my home. It wasn’t too long before I was living out my inner Carrie Bradshaw fantasy, exploring the streets of the Upper East Side with a Fendi baguette in hand (my most recent vintage find), paired with the flow of my curls left natural with a spritz of texturizing spray.
NYC never fails in finding a way to occupy my time. Today’s morning wake-me-up calls for the simple joy of grabbing my go-to vanilla cold brew from La Colombe. I treat myself to the largest size, providing much-needed caffeine to accompany me while shopping on the cobblestone streets of Soho. I throw on a baby pink mini dress to match the rogue pigment defining my cheekbones, and a pair of platform sandals—a popular choice seen trending during most recent New York Fashion Week shows.
As I journey through the city, I am surrounded by what has to be the peak of my day— a fading sunset of pink and orange, slowly merging over the silhouette of the city skyline. The sunset always finds me on my way home. They say New York is the city that never sleeps, yet I find comfort in a night-in spent trying on my favored fashion finds of the day, then falling asleep to the same city bustle that greeted me this morning.
