STYLING SCENT

The Art of Styling Scent

“You smell spectacular, what are you wearing”? I find there’s no better compliment. Upon a choice outfit for the day, I look forward to completing my look with a fragrance that not only yields compliments but also compliments my mood. Sandalwood if I’m feeling sensual, a little leather if I’m feeling mysterious, and a nice floral when I’m feeling alluring. When it comes to expression, as with styling clothes, the scent is equally as important being that it is affected by the parts of our brain that process emotion and memory. Therefore, fragrances allow us to further express ourselves without even saying a word. What better way to leave a lasting impression?

Here are some of my favorite fragrances to style this Spring and Summer:

Creed, Aventus for Her

When I’m feeling powerful, free, and irresistible I love spraying on this elegant, fresh scent. It consists of green apple, patchouli, lemon, pink pepper, and violet. It is quite vibrant, so I prefer wearing it on sunny days so I can feel inspired during my work week and more enthusiastic to get stuff done! I’d pair this scent with some tailored high waist pants, a power shoulder cropped blazer, and some bright-colored mules.

Tom Ford, Ombre Leather

I describe this scent as sensual, mysterious, and confident. I love wearing it when I’m exploring new places on summer nights. Let’s say, networking at an evening event in NYC, a business meeting with C-suite executives on an exquisitely designed rooftop, or enjoying a glass of Chardonnay with new acquaintances at the Bulgari Hotel Milano while adventuring in Milan. This scent consists of jasmine, patchouli, and vetiver, for the more relaxing occasions where you are still likely to turn heads. A classic monochromatic black ensemble will do.

Parfums De Marley, Delina

Last but certainly not least, for the days I’m feeling charming, beautiful, and sophisticated. I love wearing this scent for intimate settings like a vacation in Paris with my lover. I would describe this fragrance as purely feminine, as it is sweet and floral.  This scent consists of Turkish rose, lily of the valley, bergamot, nutmeg, cedarwood, lychee, and rhubarb. It is impactful and will have someone remembering your elegance forever.  I would pair this with pastel colors, a long flowy skirt, and romantic waves.

And this my lovely’s is the Art of Styling Scent.

Sincerest,

-VS Girl
