CARRY-ON MUST-HAVES

I’m returning to the skies with a few key items that make it in my carry-on bag every time!

A Fresh Start:

The first thing I do after I’m seated is reach for my hand sanitizer. It’s the perfect size to be tucked away in your bag and is easily accessible for moments when you’re in a pinch. I spray the hand sanitizer three times, allowing it to pool in the palm of one hand, before smoothing it over both. When searching for the perfect hand sanitizer, I have always been partial to fresh scents that don’t have any lingering notes of alcohol and pair well with any other light fragrances I wear throughout the day. This one is also highly moisturizing, leaving my skin soft to the touch for the duration of the flight.

Dry Hands No More:

Skin feeling dry and lifeless while in the skies? Having a go-to hand lotion makes for the perfect solution. I look for lotions that use cruelty-free ingredients like coconut oil, and shea butter, and that isn’t too heavily fragranced or sticky. Making a habit of reapplying it during my flight following every hand wash or spritz of sanitizer combats the dry air that airplanes are so well known for. But don’t just depend on lotions to keep up the hydration: be sure to drink at least 8 ounces of water for every hour of your trip! Other ways to keep yourself hydrated while flying is by avoiding salty foods and eating fruits and vegetables with high water content.

Patching Things Up:

Another way to keep my skin feeling moisturized and looking bright is by using a set of eye masks. They reduce puffiness, keep the under-eye area feeling soothed and hydrated and lessen the severity of dark circles. Recently, I’ve enjoyed wearing them under my face masks while flying. Smooth them right before boarding the plane to allow the serum to do its job before you’re even up in the sky or right before you arrive at your destination for a fresh face. I also love using a nourishing lip balm to leave my lips feeling soft and smooth all day. I reapply after eating, drinking, or whenever my lips just need a little boost.

Bon voyage!
