BATH TIME

I walk into my apartment and shut the door. Today was exhausting. Running around, answering calls, sending emails, the work seemed endless. Now that I’m finally at home, I know exactly what I need to do: pamper myself. One of my favorite ways to do that is to take a luxurious bath. While some may look down on baths as something rightfully left in childhood, I would argue that taking a bath is one of the most relaxing acts of self care you can do, provided you do it right.

I always start off by pouring myself a glass of prosecco, and putting on a soft robe, as there’s nothing that makes me feel more luxurious than wearing a silk bathrobe and having a glass of bubbly in hand. Once in the bathroom, I light a few candles, and turn off the lights, allowing myself a moment to bask in their glow. I draw the bath, and with the tub halfway full, I reach for my bath oil and pour a bit in, blanketing the room in the subtle scent of lavender. Now comes the fun part: the bubbles. Keep the water running so that your bath can properly bubble, as the water pressure is what makes the magic happen. Pouring in a little bubble mix, the bath starts to foam, creating pillow-like structures, all soft and white. Now is also the perfect time to put on a nice sheet mask, or some under eye gels, as you’ll be laying, or should I say luxuriating, in the bath for quite a while.

The robe comes off, and I always like to test the water out first, making sure it’s hot, but not too hot, the ideal temperature being around 92 degrees. I lower myself and sink into the bath, the warm water melting away all my stresses and worries from the day and I close my eyes, finally at peace.
